GenerEdge is committed to serving as a vehicle for implementing the Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”) which uses tax incentives and subsidies to accelerate the installation of energy-saving systems in the places we live, learn, work and worship.
The IRA Justice 40 program mandates that 40% of its benefits are directed to disadvantaged communities. The Green Energy Fund lending platform and our network of contractors, green banks and consumer-friendly lenders are intended to support Justice 40 community-led, energy-saving projects.
We believe that focusing on money-saving may well be planet-saving.
The GenerEdge approach to meeting the challenge of climate change is not to join the chorus warning about the accelerating consequences of global warming. Instead, we have built a finance platform for contractors to encourage the installation of energy-saving devices. The consumer attraction of these devices is cost savings on utility bills.
The result of a broad-based reduction in utility bills produces a similar reduction in the use of fossil fuels. The average home in the US releases 12,000 pounds of carbon annually into the atmosphere. A 50% reduction in utility bills produces 6,000 pounds less carbon each year.
